AS IF!

I dont quite know what I am thinking...
So I ventured to the yarn store (yay finally!!!!) expecting to only pick up sz us 9 needles, a set of cable needles, and possibly a ball of sock yarn. Did I follow my shopping list? OF COURSE NOT! I have doven face first into an afghan. Leslye Soloman, owner of www.woolworks.com , has created these nice little Fringe benefits throw kits. Im not sure if I have told you, but I am very fond of kits! Its all there, I know what im making. Its like getting a cookbook with pictures. I dont think I even own a cookbook without pictures. These kits are great! They have so many yarns! The body of the yarn is made of cascade ecowool and the fringe is made of multiple colors, fibers, and textures PRECUT! Very nice indeed!

patterns and such

So I am having a difficult time finding patterns that I like and that agree with my body...
Im not quite the smallest girl you know... I hate that I cant find any larger size patterns that are CUTE!!!! most of them look old ladyish and very unflattering! I've never tried making my own patterns, so maybe I will have to learn.
I am almost done with the back of my pasadena sweater. I have gotten to the crazy point where I am working on TOO MANY PROJECTS!!!
I have going the following.....
pasadena sweater
mock croc socks
blackberry sweater
crocheted mustache for my friend
afghan that is full of scrap yarns
and I cant wait to get to the yarn store to get more things for more projects!!!!!!!!!!

Im on knit overload.

Ive started on a new pair of socks.. surprise surprise! They are nice! I got this inexpensive superwash nylon blend from knitpicks. I decided to go with the mock crock socks; cute with an all over pattern! Im not really used to using dpn's, so its going a bit slow, but oh well. Ive found my next sweater patterns!!! I am going to be knitting the pasadena sweater in brick. I also found this a little number called blackberry blackberry on the knitty website...
SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM... It all started with one st. st. infested sweater... now i need pattern galore..........

old and new...

Hey not too bad! Second post in a week! Keep it up slacker!

So I decided to take pictures of my past months projects. The first is my VERY FIRST SWEATER!!!!! I sure am ambicious! You can find the pattern here
Curse Your Boyfriend I decided not to put the curses on it as my husband isnt too into embellishments... Oh well... his loss.

FINE FINE the pictures arent great and the neck is a little wonky... but the point is I made a sweater :)

So it turns out there is an anticraft book and you can bet your little cookies who is going to be getting that! Also! Make sure to check out their archives for their older patterns! Some real cute things!

Ive also finished my first felted item... A HAT! I was hoping to figure out a way to make a felted cowboy hat... But well... patternless, and pattern making skills less, I came up with this! Cute warm and brown. All my favorites!

finally??!

Ok. So after inspiring myself, I have decided to start a blog. I have finished my very first sweater (given to my husband), and my first felted item (a hat for me). I have been knitting for a few years now. I was an avid sock knitter, but I decided it was time to move to a larger scale! I am so angry at myself for not expanding my knitting horizons sooner. I will use this blog to motivate myself to create larger projects... NO FLAKING MEGHAN! I will make sure to post pictures of my recent projects and patterns and such.
yay for bloggin!
